There's a crack in anything, that's how the light gets in." Text: Werner Wilkening, Musik: Patrick Gregor Braun, Text: Claudia J. Schulze. 1. Sprache: Deutsch. Erzähler: Werner Wilkening. Hörprobe: http://samples.audible.de/bk/hage/000035/bk_hage_000035_sample.mp3. Digitales Hörbuch im AAX Format.

Spymaster: Startling Cold War Revelations of a ...

From the dark days of World War II through the Cold War, Sergey A. Kondrashev was a major player in Russia’s notorious KGB espionage apparatus. Rising through its ranks through hard work and keen understanding of how the spy and political games are played, he “handled” American and British defectors, recruited Western operatives as double agents, served as a ranking officer at the East Berlin and Vienna KGB bureaus, and tackled special assignments from the Kremlin. During a 1994 television program about former spymasters, Kondrashev met and began a close friendship with a former foe, ex–CIA officer Tennent H. “Pete” Bagley, whom the Russian asked to help write his memoirs. Because Bagley knew so about much of Kondrashev’s career (they had been on opposite sides in several operations), his penetrating questions and insights reveal slices of never-revealed espionage history that rival anything found in the pages of Ian Fleming, Len Deighton, or John le Carr. This includes chilling tales of surviving Stalin’s purges while superiors and colleagues did not, of plotting to reveal the Berlin Tunnel, of quelling the Hungarian Revolution and “Prague Spring” independence movements, and of assisting in arranging the final disposition of the corpses of Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun. Kondrashev also details equally fascinating KGB propaganda and disinformation efforts that shaped Western attitudes throughout the Cold War. Because publication of these memoirs was banned by Putin’s regime, Bagley promised Kondrashev to have them published in the West. They are now available to all who are fascinated by vivid tales of international intrigue. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Bronson Pinchot. Axiom Business Book Award Winner!Something massive is shifting in the world of entertainment.Across the planet, humans spend more of their free time watching video than doing anything else. But increasingly it's not TV they're watching, but online video. In 2016, Swedish vlogger PewDiePie made a record $15 million from his YouTube videos, beating Hollywood A-listers like Harrison Ford, Julia Roberts and Amy Adams. Something massive is shifting in the world of entertainment.Since its founding in 2005, YouTube has become the first and only truly global media platform, with over a billion users worldwide. It has changed the media industry as profoundly as the development of radio, film and television. In Streampunks, YouTube's Chief Business Officer Robert Kyncl gets to the heart of this creative revolution through behind-the-scenes stories of its biggest stars - YouTubers like Tyler Oakley, Lilly Singh, and Casey Neistat-and the dealmakers brokering the future of media, like Scooter Braun, who scouted 12-year old Justin Bieber on YouTube, and Vice media mogul Shane Smith who used the platform to turn young people onto news and current affairs.By giving anyone with a smartphone their own TV channel, YouTube is fuelling a new creative boom. Not only is it generating the new faces of entertainment, but also changing how students are taught, how social issues are discussed and how small businesses advertise and develop.Streampunks is the definitive book on the modern pop-culture juggernaut Youtube, the platform remaking the face of entertainment.

'It´s a big, big world It´s easy to get lost in it...' —Justin Bieber, 'Up' I love those lines in the lyrics. Sometimes I feel like that´s what everyone´s expecting. My world got very big, very fast, and a lot of people expect me to get lost in it. I grew up in a small town in Canada. I taught myself to sing in front of my bedroom mirror and to play guitar on a hand-me-down. My mom posted my first videos on YouTube. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I´d sell millions of records, sing for the president of the United States and sell out a massive arena tour. So no, I´m not lost. Not at all. If anything, onstage in front of my fans, I´m home. I´m found. And that´s what this book is about: my journey, from singing and busking on the sidewalk in Stratford, Ontario, to performing and showing my appreciation to millions of fans all over the world for making this dream a reality. My music and lyrics give a glimpse of what´s in my heart, but I think this book is a window into my world. In here are hundreds of pictures of me that no one´s ever seen before, and I´ll tell you about who I was before I joined forces with Scooter Braun and Usher and got a record deal, and who I´ve become since I´ve been blessed with the opportunity to share my music with the world. This is my gift to you, the fans who´ve supported and been with me on this amazing journey every step of the way.
